Hurley Education Literacy Program

The Hurley School District’s Hurley Education Literacy Program (H.E.L.P.) has provided one on one tutoring in reading for elementary students for the past six years. Community volunteers from all walks of life meet with students for one half hour during the school day to help them improve their literacy skills. A new partnership has been formed with Grand View Health Systems (GVHS) to match GVHS employee volunteers with Hurley elementary students who are currently signed up for H.E.L.P. but do not have a tutor working with them.  Both organizations are eager to begin this new collaboration. Community members who are interested in becoming a tutor may call Gerry Traczyk, Community Education Director at 715-561-4900 ext, 307.
